Artist-in-Residence

During our tour of the fabulous Kameda Medical Center, I couldn't keep my eyes off the art. There were these little detailed pieces of art mounted on the walls, hanging from the ceiling, and hidden in nooks and crannies:

A bookstand by the bathroom.

Teapots over telephone booths.

A hanging toy in the pediatrics clinic made from recycled kimono silk.

As it turns out, Kameda has its very own artist-in-residence, Kako Anagarasu. What an AWESOME concept! This is an idea I want to import to the US! It really wouldn't cost that much to add one more person on the UNC hospital pay-roll and honestly, I would much rather it be an artist than another medical specialist.
